Will my insurance cover my visit?

At this time we are cash-based only.

Can your office provide documentation that can help with getting insurance reimbursements for consultations and/or test kits?

Our practice does not process insurance claims. Queens Weight & Wellness is a fee-for-service practice, which means payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit/debit cards (including care credit). As a courtesy we can provide patients with an itemized receipt called a superbill, which patients may submit to their insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement received will be dependent on your specific plan. If insurance reimbursement is a concern, we recommend you check with your carrier prior to any laboratory testing. We can provide you with the specific billing codes that correspond to the laboratory testing we plan to run, and your carrier can give you a better idea of what they cover.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

A canceled appointment hurts three people: you, your provider, and another client who could have potentially used your time slot. Providers sessions are scheduled in advance and are a time reserved exclusively for our clients. When a session is canceled without adequate notice, we are unable to fill this time slot by offering it to another current client, a client on the waitlist, or a client with a clinical emergency.

*** For FREE Consultations: If you have to cancel or reschedule your session for any reason, please give a 24-hour notice. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your session you may risk the chances of not being able to reschedule.

***Paid Services*** Clients can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime if they provide 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to show up, you will be charged a $60 fee for the appointment. Some practices have a 48-hour policy. Some even have a 72-hour policy. Ours is 24 hours, and we are firm at 24 hours, for weekday appointments and 48 hours for weekend appointments. You can cancel your appointment by calling, texting, or emailing your specific provider. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment time, it will be treated as a late cancellation. It’s important to remember that insurance will not pay for missed appointments, so you will be responsible for the full $60 fee. The only time we will waive this fee is in the event of serious or contagious illness or extreme weather or other unavoidable circumstance. If you are unsure, please contact our office for further guidance. While it is a time commitment, this is for your personal growth and consistency is key in order to achieve this.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Both use evidence-based techniques and intentional dialogue as the primary tools for growth and discovery, but there are also key differences between these services: Coaching focuses primarily on the present and future, while therapy focuses on the past, present, and future. Coaching is focused on personal growth and professional development, while therapy is designed to help you work through deeper issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma.

Is coaching right for me?

When you feel like you are functioning well overall and want to set goals to help you develop a greater sense of drive, improve your ability to bounce back from setbacks, feel more satisfied with your life, or improve your relationships, coaching may be a great fit for you.  Schedule a free session to see if coaching works for you.

What happens if I miss a coaching session?

You receive 1 “emergency reschedule” in your Program, which means you can cancel a session within 24 hours and still reschedule the session. Any other canceled sessions with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited

When will I see the antidepressants take effect?

On average, antidepressants begin to work in 6-8 weeks. We will work with you to determine the best medication and talk to you about how long it might take for you. Everyone's brain and chemical makeups are different, and your treatment will be unique to you.

Why do you recommend medical-grade nutrition supplements when I could get cheaper store-grade over the counter supplements?

Medical-grade supplements are recommended as an adjunct to dietary and lifestyle modification as a service to my clients. This approach is central to the well-researched and science-based practice of functional and integrative medicine. Medical-grade supplements are manufactured at the same standards as pharmaceutical drugs. Medical-grade supplements contain a higher concentration and quality than over-the-counter supplements, which is why they may cost more.

Medical-grade supplements have specific guidelines and requirements they must meet. Raw ingredients are tested, toxins are removed, and their bioavailability is vital to be considered medical grade. You are in no way required to use any supplements as part of your treatment plan. Unfortunately, with years of experience reviewing lab work on patients taking a varying quality of supplements available over-the-counter, I can confirm that quality does matter.

Can you diagnose mental health conditions virtually?

Yes! With mental health concerns, diagnosing over video appointments is just as accurate as diagnosing in-person. The same clinical guidelines and tools are used in-person and remotely.

Can I get a same-day appointment?
